Andrewmulti- energetic light in the spectrographic effect in the diffraction and interference experiments suggests light (photon or wave)  of different energy does not interfere.Single photon experiments (only one energy present at a time) of diffraction and interference require the photon to self interfere. The accumulation of single photons of different energies recover the spectrographic effects.I think interference of photons is also suggested in the quantum eraser experiments.Hodge
