I agree with you entirely here. Nevertheless, I believe that the electron
is composed of two standing waves. The constituent photon is one; the other
is mentioned below.

I would also be interested in how John M. confines them ('pressure' on a
wave is a bit nebulous). The means of confinement, which I will propose in
one of my conference papers, is based on the whispering-gallery mode and
total internal reflection in the graded-refractive-index (GRIN)
sub-picosphere of the energy-density distorted 4-space called an electron.
In this case, the standing wave is a result of co-rotating wave overlaps
rather than the counter-propagating wave overlap of the standard standing
wave.
