Another way to bring in a new model is to show correspondence to the accepted model for the conditions of the accepted model. Then the new model includes all the accpted models success Plus new applications such as the falsifing experiment.

One of the light papers included a section on showing corespondence. That is, the math of the STOE reduces to the integral HF where the sum is over the photons going through the slit and the integration limits are across the entire slit with equal intensity at each point (your flat).

Perhaps, you may not have noticed this part.
